Yes, no matter what type of injury you may have sustained to your knee, this course will guide you on how to manage throughout if you follow the lessons in order, and when to escalate for further investigation/advice if required.
Absolutely! If you're looking to just build overall strength (especially in your legs and back/core), resilience, confidence, and fitness to take on these activities/Sports, then this course is perfect for you too!
This is a difficult question to answer as everyone will recover at different rates. You could make a return within 4 weeks, however you should allow for a period of about 9 weeks through early to intermediate phases, during which time you could be making a gradual return to your activities simultaneously if you have met the criteria in all the lessons to best optimise knee function. Return to usual performance levels can often take up to 12 weeks, and sometimes more.
You should find the early protocols/advice in lesson 2 are sufficient to see you return comfortably to them!
That's what the bonus resource is for! An alternative home-based intermediate knee rehab program. It may be difficult to replicate the exact strength gains you may see in a gym-based setting, however it will put you in a similar position to returning to your activities all the same! Keep following the guidance in lesson 4 if you encounter any issues during this time, be sure to get in touch at [email protected].
These are mainly aimed at people with Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries returning to Sports, but what can be a useful test regardless when returning to trail running and multi-day hiking. As an alternative, make sure you can complete over 15 vertical and forward hops comfortably before considering returning to these Sports/activities. Again, be sure to follow the lessons for a more complete clearance to your activities/Sports.
Yes, however you will need more structured support for certain sports that involve quick turns of direction and contact from the opposition for example.
The course will still be of benefit to you, however you should seek out further professional advice or reach out to me beforehand as this is primarily designed for those with injuries affecting one knee only.
You should follow the advice of the orthopaedic/physiotherapy team managing your case instead, but if you are no longer being actively managed by them and are still having issues then feel free to discuss further with me for advice on whether this is right for you!
Yes, only if you are not being actively managed by an Orthopaedic/Physiotherapy team still. If not then be sure to follow the lessons in order without skipping any of them until you have been cleared by the markers in each lesson. If you are still unsure, then get in touch with me!
If you normally use them, yes, and depending on what type of terrain you are on they can be beneficial, however they should not be necessary for extra support to the knee if you would otherwise not use them as it should be strong and stable enough by this point.
